TOAST

The Tiny Diner
Penelope Benton and Alexandra Clapham

All good festivals need a hub. A place to sit down, read the program, meet people, and get a cheap bite to eat. The Tiny Diner is a three walled purpose built tiny stadium in the PACT courtyard housing a cardboard café, complete with cardboard kitchen, serving (edible) $2 toasties all weekend.

Penelope Benton and Alexandra Clapham are best known for their costumed dinner performances and decadent sets as installed at The Paper Mill, The Rocks Village Bizarre and most recently at Carriageworks as part of the launch of Art Month Sydney.

In this new project, the artists continue exploring their interests in the act of creating to give, along with setting the stage for indulgence, and further extending their experiments with cardboard, to create a simple, yet toasty, interactive installation on this, the first weekend of what is set to be a very cold winter.
